Wood-burned Calligraphy
This week I have combined two of my favourite craft projects. Calligraphy and pyrography.
This is a really simple wood-burning tutorial that uses a carbon paper image transfer method. I have used this transfer method in past craft projects. When transferring images and stencils on to wood I find that this is the best method for smooth sanded wood.
When creating wood-burned art the possibilities are endless. The calligraphy fonts on the Letter Stencil Maker on Rapid Resizer are great for making signs with nice messages and reminders :)
The Picture Stencil Maker on Rapid Resizer is also an AMAZING tool for wood-burning photos on to wood as well. These make wonderful keepsakes and gifts. I just love the way the wood burned art looks!
What you'll need:
- piece of wood
- wood-burning pen
- a pencil or pen
- carbon transfer paper
- tape
Tape your stencil to your piece of wood. Place the carbon paper face down on the wood underneath your stencil. Trace your design using a pen or pencil pressing firmly.
When your design has transferred on to your piece of wood, carefully trace over your design with your wood-burning pen.
