Collage Art
Deer subscribers,
This week I wanted to try using a new medium; magazines! I created a collage using a photo stencil and strips of color cut from existing photos. This creates a wonderful blend of different textures and shades of color in a geometric looking style.
This project requires inexpensive materials and is a fun and relaxing activity. I hope you get a chance to try making one of these. If you do, don't forget to share your artwork with us by submitting photos to our support team.
I started by cutting out different colors from magazines and organized them in groups of color. I glued each piece to a small canvas by painting them with school glue with a paintbrush. It helps by looking at where the light hits the subject in the photo.
What you'll need:
- a thin canvas or card paper
- magazines
- scissors
- school glue
