Intarsia by Rolf Beuttenmuller

I created this pattern early in the year from a painting done in 1922 by my wife’s great uncle. Her cousin acquired the original painting locally. He gave me a photo and this is resulting intarsia piece, using a print of the original painting as a backdrop. The woods used are all natural colors. This has been my most challenging pattern to date.

And below’s another piece by Rolf of a goldfinch.
