2016 Review: Craft Projects, New Fonts & Shapes, Reshape, Arc, Art Business Course

I hope Rapid Resizer's tools helped you to make lots of great art in 2016.

In case you didn’t notice all of the improvements I made last year, here are the highlights.

No More One-Man Band

Rapid Resizer's gotten too popular for me to manage alone, so I started bringing in talented people to help you better.

Georgia's now handling your questions. She's a crafter and a graphic designer, so she'll understand what you're trying to accomplish. I'll still answer anything she can't help you with.

Stephanie's ensuring we regularly send you great tips and ideas, including original art projects on our updated blog. The instructions include her beautiful photos as well as Rapid Resizer tutorials from our YouTube channel.

Steph's also posting tips to our Facebook page.

Word Stencil Maker: More Fonts and Mixing Styles

I added more beautiful fonts, most of them requested by users like you. There's a new symbol font containing over 600 shapes. Try them here.

This tool also finally got the long requested option to combine different fonts and styles in the same design. Mixing styles can be a little glitchy but should be polished by the end of January.

Reshape or Un-Distort Designs

The Skew option lets you tilt the edges of your design. E.g., you could make a square design fit a triangular shape by squeezing the top together. To use it, from the step where you can enter your design's size, click Customize Your Design and choose Skew. This feature is part of all the paid Rapid Resizer Online versions.

You can also use this to fix images that aren't rectangular but should be. Those images occur if a design was photographed at an angle.

Arc Designs

You can now bend any design into an arch or circle. To use it, from the step where you can enter your design's size, click Customize Your Design and choose Arc. This feature is part of all the paid Rapid Resizer Online versions.

Under the Hood Improvements

Many months went into making the site more reliable, secure, and responsive. These upgrades aren't very exciting, but they'll help ensure you can rely on Rapid Resizer's tools for many more years. I'll continue improving the site's speed, security, and looks this year.

New Tools to Help You in 2017

With the help of the growing Rapid Resizer team, I'm looking forward to offering you lots of improved and new tools, free and premium, throughout this year.

Improved Picture Stencil Maker

This tool that automatically turns an image into a stencil has become almost as popular as the word stencil maker, so I'm planning on upgrading it with more options to produce better designs.

Craft Design Marketplace

The big addition planned for Rapid Resizer is a new site where you can share, find, customize, combine, and sell arts & crafts designs. It will connect to CafePress/Zazzle type services, 3D printers, and other companies that can produce objects for you.

"How to Sell Your Arts & Crafts Online" Quick Course

In 2017, this took a backseat to improving reliability and building the team. But now we have a professional teacher with a Masters degree in developing online courses to ensure this turns out well. With a little luck, you'll see this in February.
