Lino Printing With Our Free Lemon Designs

Have you tried using our free Design Library patterns for lino printing? This fun and easy stamp technique is a fantastic introduction to printmaking.

For this project, I chose three designs from our library and used the Designer tool to create a pattern I liked. After this, you can start by transferring your image onto the linoleum, I used graphite paper to trace my design. Once you have your design penciled onto the lino you can start the carving process using a carving tool.

It’s a good idea to plan which areas to carve away beforehand on paper. This will ensure you are getting the desired effect of positive and negative space on your final outcome.

Once you are happy with your carving you are ready to roll on your ink before pressing onto paper.

To start lino printing, you’ll need the following lino tools:

  • A lino block, there are many different types

  • Carving tools

  • Ink, I used Speedball block printing ink for this project

  • Roller

  • Printing paper
